Creating complex shape using basic shapes |
| Start by creating a circle using elliptical shape tool. |

| Enable "exclude overlapping shape areas" at the top bar. |

| Create an ellipse using elliptical shape tool. |

| Press Ctrl+J to duplicate the layer. Press Ctrl+T and rotate 30°. |

| Keep pressing Ctrl+J and then Shift+Ctrl+T to create multiple duplicates of the same layer rotated by equal degrees. |

| Using path selection tool, select all the paths. Press Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to copy paste the path. With "exclude overlapping shape areas" enabled at the top bar press Ctrl+T and scale up. |

| From edit menu select define custom shape. |

| Assign a name to the new shape. |

| This shape will appear in custom shape flyout. |

| Now you can use this shape whenever you want without going through all the steps time and again. Just create a new file. Fill with a solid black color. Take orange as a foreground color. Select custom shape tool. From the preset shape flyout at the top bar select "Tile_Pattern" shape and draw on your canvas. |
