Creating a face silhouette

Start by opening an image of a face.

Duplicate the layer and change the color mode to linear dodge.

Duplicate the layer to make the effect stronger.
Select all the layer from layer palette and press Ctrl+E to merge the layers.
Erase the outer area of the face using erase tool.
