Creating Mickey Mouse face

Start by drawing a black circle using elliptical shape tool.

Create a small black circle for ear. Before drawing enable add to path area on top bar.
Use direct selection tool ( the filled arrow icon instead of hollow arrow icon ). Click on small ear circle and drag to the other side to create a duplicate of the ear.

Take skin color as a foreground color and draw an ellipse.
Press Ctrl+T to transform and rotate.
Create a duplicate of the skin color ellipse and flip it horizontally.

Using pen tool draw cheeks and chin area. Follw the images for drawing shape.

Create two white ellipse for eyes.
Create two small black ellipse for eyelids.

Use pen tool to draw a small curve below the eyes.
Set brush width to 3 pixels. In path window click stroke path with brush.
Create a black ellipse for nose below this curve.

Using pen tool draw mouth shape.

 

Using 3 pixel brush draw two small free hand curves at the edges of the ellipse. This will create a smiling face.
Using pen tool draw a path for tounge inside the mouth area.
Fill it with red color.
Select both skin color layers, link together and press Ctrl+E to merge.
Double click this merge layer to open layer sttyle window and enable stroke. Apply settings as shown.
Right click the layer and select copy layer style.
Right click the white eye layer and select paste layer style.
Add highlights by creating small white circles in eyelids and one at the nose tip.
Finsh the drawing by applying a nice gradient to the background.
