| Creating a "sunlight
on face" effect |
In this tutorial we'll create sunlight effect ( as if its coming from a window or from a grill ) on an old man face. Start by opening an image in which you want to add sunlight. |

From custom shape tool ( U ) select tile2. |

| Create tile shape on a new layer to cover the subject. Use some lighter color like white or pale white etc |

| From the layer pallete change the color mode of the shape layer to overlay. |

| Right click the shape layer and select rasterize layer. |

| Fro filter menu select blur>>gaussian blur. |
|
| Use blur settings as shown. |

| From the layer pallete reduce the opacity to 70%. |

| Select the lasso tool and make selection of outer area. |

| Press Ctrl+Alt +D to apply feathter on the selection. |

| Press delete to remove the selection area. |

| Select the sunlight effect on the upper body of the old man. We'll displace it from its place a little bit to achieve some realism. |

| Press Ctrl+T to get transform handles. |

| Right click the transform selection and select warp. |

| Adjust the nodes of the image to apply a perspective look to our ligh and offset the lines so that they do not match exactly with lines on his face. |

| Here's the result. Looks like the old man is standing in front of a window from which sunlight is falling on his face. |
